Supply Chain Due Diligence Act
According to Germany’s Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) of June 11, 2021, German enterprises with international supply chains will have to review their supply chains upon compliance with universal human rights and enact a respective supply chain management system as by 2023. The LkSG applies both to foreign companies with subsidiaries in Germany and to German companies with controlled subsidiaries abroad whose foreign registered office is also part of the LkSG’s business area.
Companies must implement risk analysis and risk management measures both in their own business area and with their direct suppliers (see BMZ).
How do you prepare your business? Who assumes control and responsibility for compliance with the LkSG in your company? And how do you qualify your suppliers in China, what are the consequences if your suppliers do not meet specified standards, how do you monitor processes in times when travel is not possible?
